Mexican Hot Chocolate

Hey Dolls!

Fall is finally here! It's time to break out the scarves, boots, long sleeves, and hot beverages. A staple hot beverage is hot chocolate kids and adults love this drink all the same but, sometimes plain old hot chocolate can be a bit boring. So, I wanted to share with you Dolls a way to jazz up hot chocolate. So, let's jump into it!

Let's begin with ingredients: (Makes two servings)
  • 2 packets of instant hot chocolate mix or 3 tables spoons of cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon of chocolate sauce
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • A pinch of cayenne powder
  • 1/4 cup milk or evaporated milk (I use almond milk)
  • 2/4 cups boiling water or milk
  • Whipped cream
  • Ground Cinnamon
Onto the recipe:
  1. Place the hot chocolate mix or cocoa powder, water, chocolate sauce, cinnamon stick, milk and cayenne powder into a medium sauce pan. Bring this mixture to a rolling boil. Make sure to mix the powders together.
  2. Once the mixture has been brought to a boil all of the contents should be smooth. Stir to make sure that here is no powder left.
  3. Turn off the stove and remove the cinnamon stick from the sauce pan.
  4. Ladle the hot chocolate into mugs.
  5. Top the hot chocolate with whipped cream and ground cinnamon.
That's all folks!

That was my Mexican hot chocolate recipe. It is an awesome twist to a traditional beverage. This recipe will definitely warm you up this Fall and Winter!

How To: Choose the Correct Foundation Finish for your Skin Type

Hey Dolls!

Picking out the right foundation for your skin can be tough! You have to consider coverage level, your under tone, your skin color, your skin type, and the finish of the foundation. In previous blog posts I have covered the topics of how to find your skin type and your undertone. (I will link those two posts below.) Which leaves only two topics to cover. One being how to find the correct finish for your foundation and the other bring coverage level. So today's post is going to cover how to choose the right finish for your foundation. Monday's post will cover coverage level.

P.S. I figured I didn't need to make a blog post covering skin color/tone. If you ever have trouble finding your skin color in the drugstore bring a foundation you already have and know matches your skin color with you. If you don't have a foundation that matches you just try and find a color closest to your color. If it doesn't match it's okay, most drugstores will allow you to exchange. If you ever have trouble finding your skin tone at a department store consult one of the people who work there. They will assist you.

In a previous post I talked about the differences between dry, normal, combination, and oily skin. (As stated above I will link this post below.) These differences in skin type makes it imperative to find a foundation that works for the different skin types. In the lists below I lay out the different finishes of foundation. Below that I will say what skin type is best suited for this finish and which is not. In addition to listing the skin type and foundation finish I will also list drugstore and high end examples of foundations that match that finish. I hope that these list will be easy to read and informative. So, with all that said let's jump into it!

  1. Foundation Finish: Dewy.
    1. Dewy means glowy.
      1. Skin types this finish suits: dry and normal
        1. Why? dry skin secrete little to no oil. Normal skin is balanced, finish of foundation is based on preference of a person with this skin type. Which can make the skin appear dull and emphasizes dry patches of this. Dewy foundation will add glow to the skin. This will eliminate the dull appearance of dry skin.
      2. Skin types this finish does not suit: combination and oily
        1. Why? Combination to oily skin produce visible oil. This gives people with these skin types a naturally dewy appearance. Adding extra dew to the skin by using dewy foundation can emphasize oiliness and pores. Making the skin look dirty or excessively dewy.
      3. Drugstore Dewy Foundations: L'Oreal True Match Lumi and Maybelline Fit Me liquid Foundations.
      4. High End Dewy Foundations: Nars Sheer Glow and Benefit Hello Flawless liquid foundations.
  2. Foundation Finish: Matte
      1. Skin types this finish suits: Normal, combination and oily
        1. Why? Normal is balanced skin, finish of foundation is based on preference of a person with this skin type. Combination skin gets oily in way is own as the t-zone (forehead and nose area.). Matte foundation takes away the oily appearance of these area. Oily skin gets oily all over. Matte foundation takes away appearance of oil on the skin. As the day goes on combination and oily skinned people will experience less oiliness than they would with a dewy foundation.
      2. Skin types this finish does not suit: dry
        1. Why? Dry skin already is matte naturally. Adding more will emphasize dry patches and pores.
      3. Drugstore Matte Foundations: Maybelline Fit Me stick foundation and Revlon Colorstay Combo/Oily liquid foundation.
      4. High End Matte Foundations: Nars Sheer Matte Liquid Foundation and Kat Von D Lock-it Tattoo Liquid Foundation.
  3. Foundation Finish: Satin.
    1. Satin, often referred to as natural, is a mix between matte and dewy finishes. It gives a very natural effect to the skin.
      1. Skin types this finish suits: Dry, normal and combination
        1. Why? Dry skin can use satin finish foundation. Although it will appear more matte on that skin type. However, it won't enhance the appearance of pores or dry patches. Normal is balanced skin, finish of foundation is based on preference of a person with this skin type. Combination skin can use this finish as well. It will appear more dewy on this skin type. I suggest using this in colder months when the skin is drier.
      2. Skin types this finish does not suit: Oily
        1. Why? Skin that is oily all over will not allow for a satin foundation. Satin will appear dewy on this skin type. This will enhance the appearance of pores and oiliness.
      3. Drugstore Satin Foundation: L'Oreal True Match Liquid Foundation
      4. High End Dewy Foundation: Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H Liquid Foundation
That's all Folks!

Updated Night Time Skin Care Routine

Hey Dolls!

In June I posted a skin care routine. It was at the time the best skin care routine I had done. I felt that my skin was clear and visibly soft. Sadly, I experienced some breakouts (I am not sure exactly what caused the breakouts.) and that routine was not helping me get rid of the breakouts. Naturally, I switched up my routine and I now have clear skin (again), visibly soft skin (again), and a more even tone to my skin. With such amazing results I figured it would be a perfect idea to share my skin care routine. In today's post I will be discussing my night time skin care routine. Monday I posted my daytime routine (Go check it out!). So, without further a do let's jump into it!
  • If I was wearing make up I will use CVS night-time makeup remover cleansing cloths to remove my face makeup. To remove my eyeshadow or liner I will use Maybelline Expert Eyes eye makeup remover.
  • Once all my makeup is removed I will use cold water and Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash. I will take one pump and apply it to my skin. I generally will use my hands but once a week or so I will use my Clarisonic Mia instead of my hands.
  • 2-3x a week I will use apricot scrub to for blemishes and blackheads to exfoliate my skin. I am currently using the CVS brand. I have used the Target brand, Walmart brand, and the St.Ives brand. They all work the same.
  • 2-3x a week I will use Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask to give my skin a deep clean and close my pores. Or I will use papaya soap as a mask. It helps even my skin tone. (With continuous use.)
  • Once I have finished that I will pat my skin dry and then apply witch hazel to my skin to restore the pH balance.
  • I will then apply a mixture of Lancôme's Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate and Hyaluronic Acid Serum to my face.
  • Then I will apply a mixture of Lancôme Bienfait Multi-Vita Night cream and Good n Natural Retinol cream to my face.
  • To further even the tone of my skin I will apply Artra skin tone cream to my uneven areas.
  • To help my lashes and eyebrows grow I will apply Godefory Double lash and brow to my eyelashes and eyebrows.
  • To hydrate my under eyes I apply Benefit's It's Potent eye cream.
  • Then I apply Carmex to my lips.
That's all folks!

This routine is similar to my old one I have just changed up some of my products. The routine has worked wonders for me and I am sure you Dolls will love it!

With such amazing results I figured it would be a perfect idea to share my skin care routine. In today's post I will be discussing my daytime skin care routine. Wednesday I will post my night time routine (So stay tuned!). So, without further a do let's jump into it!

  • I begin with washing my skin with cool water and Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash. I pump one pump of the face wash into my hands and then I gently wash my face and neck area.
  • I then rinse off the face wash.
  • 2x a week I will use True Blue Spa's Green Tea Fizzy Foaming Face Mask in the mornings to soothe my skin. Or I will use papaya soap as a mask. It helps even my skin and give it a natural glow. (With continuous use.)
  • Once I have finished with my face mask I will then take a cotton ball or cotton pad and apply a thin layer of witch hazel to my face. Witch Hazel helps balance the skin's pH and soothe the skin.
  • Due to my oily skin I refrain from using a moisturizer when I apply makeup. For SPF I usually use a primer or foundation with it. If I am not going to wear makeup I will mix Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Clean and Clear's Advantage Oil-Free Acne Moisturizer and then apply it to my face. I use the moisturizer because it has an SPF of 15 and it has salicylic acid in it.
  •  Then I use Benefit's It's Potent eye cream under my eyes. If my eyes are extremely dry I will use the Elf refresh roll in conjunction with my eye cream.
  • Once that is all finished I apply Carmex to my lips.
That's all folks!

This routine is similar to my old one I have just changed up some of my products. The routine has worked wonders for me and I am sure you Dolls will love it!

Quick Eyebrow Tip

Hey Dolls!

In an ideal world we would all have thick, perfectly arched eyebrows that stayed in place all day. Unfortunately, we don't live in an ideal world. Therefore we must create the illusion of thick, perfectly arched eyebrows that stay in place. In a previous post I talked about an inexpensive dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade that would fill in the brows and make them sweatproof, smuggle proof, and waterproof. That covers the thick, perfectly arched part... but what about keeping unruly brow hairs in place? Well, I have a solution for that as well! In today's post I will share that tip with you. So, without further a do let's jump into it!

Let's begin with the tip...

● Use your favorite hairspray to keep your brow hairs in place.
         ○ How do you use hairspray to keep your eyebrows I place you ask... Well its easy. All you need is a clean spoolie and your hairspray. Simply spray the spoolie with the hairspray and comb it through your eyebrows. (Remember to fill in your eyebrows before dojng the hairspray tip.) It's the perfect way to keep your eyebrows in place all day.

That's all Folks!

That was an easy, inexpensive tip that will help keep your eyebrow hairs in place. This trick has made it way easier for me to control my curly brow hairs. I figured since it has been such a God send for me it was only right to share it with you all. With that said, I hope you Dolls find this tip helpful.

Quick Tip and DIY Base Coat for Nails

Hey Dolls!

I just learned this really cool tip for nails. I think it's amazing so I am going to share with you all! Let's jump into it!

Tip: Use DIY easy to remove base coat. This easy to remove base coat keeps nail polish off the skin around the nail and it keeps the nail polish from turning the nail yellow.

To go along with that super quick tip is the DIY recipe for easy to remove base coat!

What you will need:
1. Elmer's glue
2. An empty nail polish bottle.
3. Water

Onto the recipe:
1. Make sure your nail polish bottle and brush are clean and dry.
2. Squeeze Elmer's glue into the bottle. Fill the bottle 1/3 of the way with the glue.
3. Pour water into the bottle. Use about half the amount of glue you used.
4. Put the top on the bottle and shake the mixture together. You should have a mixture that is milky and a bit running in appearance. If the mixture is still too thick add more water. If the mixture is too water add more glue.

That's all folks!

That's was my quick nail tip for you Dolls! I hope you all enjoyed that as much as I do. It really does make removing nail polish a breeze and it is a harmless way to protect the nail from staining.

If you have any questions please leave them in the comments section below. If you would like to contact me please refer to the ' follow me ' page above. Remember to share this blog and post. Thank you for stopping by the makeup junkie. Your support means the world. I hope you have a beautiful week!

DIY Eyebrow Growth Serum

Hey Dolls!

I am sure most of us have experienced bad eyebrow waxes or over plucking disasters. Growing back healthy, full eyebrows can take a long time. If you are inpatient (like me), you may try supplements or expensive, store bought eyebrow growth serums. All of those supplements and growth serums really do add up. And sometimes they don't work. So, what does someone who is on a budget  with thin eyebrows do? Well, they DIY...of course! I have discovered an amazing DIY eyebrow growth serum. (Which also works on lashes.) I have been using this for a couple of months now and have seen a difference in the thickness of my eyebrows. I figured because of my results it was time to share it with you Dolls! So, without further a do let's jump into it!

The Ingredients and Materials:
  1. Castor Oil
  2. Sweet Almond Oil
  3. Vitamin E Oil
  4. A funnel
  5. A bottle for storage
The Recipe:
  1. Have a bottle with a top. (Make sure the bottle can be used on an everyday bases.) Place the funnel in the bottle's opening. This will make adding the oils easier.
  2. Pour equal parts of castor oil, sweet almond oil, and vitamin e oil. You can make as much or as little as you wish. I generally make enough to last me a month so a tbsp. of each works perfectly.
  3. Remove the funnel from the bottle's opening, attach the bottle's top, and shake the mixture. This will help the oils combine better.
How to apply:
  1. After you have completed your skin care routine take a clean mascara wand and dip it in the eyebrow growth serum.
  2.  Brush the serum through the brows and/or the lashes. do not over coat the lashes or brows. over coating can cause irritation to the eyes.
  3. Apply every night. Avoid using this with makeup.
Things you need to know:
  1. If you are allergic to nuts this may not be the DIY for you.
  2. Results are NOT immediate. Give this serum about 2 months or so of daily use.
  3. This does NOT have to be refrigerated.
That's all folks!
That was my DIY eyebrow (and lash...) growth serum. I hope you Dolls enjoyed that post. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them in the comments section below. If you would like to contact me please refer to the 'follow me' tab above. Remember to share and 1+ this blog and post. Thank you for stopping by the makeup junkie. Your support means everything. MannyMua

Hey Dolls!

I am not a makeup artist nor am I trained to be one. So, YouTube is where I get most of my beauty knowledge.  I have been an avid beauty video watcher for at least 4 years. In this time I have developed a love for certain beauty youtubers. (I do have a post about my favorite beauty gurus up on my blog.) How ever, there is one beauty youtuber that is new to YouTube and has become my current obsession. His name is MannyMua.

He began is makeup journey as a makeup artist about a year and a half ago. Within the last couple of months he started instagramming his looks. After growing popularity on Instagram he began his YouTube channel.

I have been following his journey pretty much the entire time he has been on Instagram. His talent and energy is what draws me to him. Manny's personality is easy going, sassy, and fun. He can make a joke out of almost anything. I am currently addicted to his "chola" voice.

Beyond his amazing personality is his obvious talent. He is a self taught MUA but, no one would be able to tell if he didn't tell anyone. Manny has natural talent and drive when it comes to makeup. He never limits himself to basic looks or over the top drag queen looks. He really knows how to explore the extremes of makeup.

Manny in my opinion has a great work ethic. A lot of youtubers stray from there channels or complain alot about the process. He seems to embrace it even when the going gets rough.

With all that said I highly recommend his channel to you Dolls. He is informative and fun to watch. Manny uploads every Friday. If you aren't much of a YouTube watcher he does have a Instagram that he updates regularly.

This post may sound like I am sponsored by him or vice versa but, that is not the case. I believe that competing in the beauty industry doesn't work as well as lifting each other up. I would rather support great talent than pretend like it doesn't exist. Manny has the ability to go far. I hope through watching him grow I have the ability to do the same.

If any of you are interested in MannyMua I will link his YouTube channel below. His Instagram name is MannyMua733 for those of you who would like to follow him.

I hope you Dolls liked this post. If you have any questions or comments please leave them below. If you would like to contact me please refer to the 'follow me' page above. Remember to share this blog and post. If you enjoy the makeup junkie and would like to keep up with my posts, remember I post new blogs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 12:00 am central time. How to Apply Cream Blush

Hey Dolls!
Applying cream blush can be difficult. Sometimes you can add too much, not enough, or it can be patchy. (#thestruggle) Because I understand the struggle of evenly applying cream blush I want to share a few tips to applying cream blush beautifully. So, let's get into it!
1. Use a stippling brush. Stippling brushes are great because,  they give an airbrushed finish without adding too much product or making it patchy.
2. Use circular motions when applying the blush. This will ensure that the product gets applied evenly.
3. Be light - handed. It is hard to remove product but if you apply it lightly then you can build intensity.
That's all folks!
I hoped those super easy tips helpful you Dolls. If you have any questions or comments leave them in the comments section below. If you want to contact me, please refer to the 'follow me' tab above. Remember to shareholders this blog. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you all have a great week.

Beauty Haul

Hey Dolls!
As we all know I am always on the hunt for new makeup and beauty products so naturally, I have accumulated a few new beauty related products. Today I wanted to haul them for you all. So, without further a do let's jump into it!
1. ELF cream eyeshadow- I was at my local dollar store and saw the cream eyeshadows from their studio line. I picked the colors candlelight and bronzed. Candlelight is a pearly white shade and bronzed is a deep bronze color.
2. Julep Maven Box- I recently subscribed to Julep's Maven Beauty Box. In my first box I received the Mighty nail and cuticle serum pen, a nail color in Harriet, and a nail color in Gemma. Harriet is a orangey coral color and Gemma is a very light pink.
3. ELF eyeshadow "c" brush- I was in need of a eyeshadow brush that packs color onto the lid so, I picked up this brush for $3.
4. NYX butter gloss- I own a few of these and I adore them so I picked one up in praline to add to me collection. Praline is a mauve-y, brown color.
5. Milani Lipstick in 24 black cherry- I talked about this in my fall must haves post. It is a gorgeous deep burgundy color.
6. Wet n Wild lipstick in 918D Cherry Bomb- it is a color similar color to Milani color. I also it in my Fall must haves post.
7. Hyaluronic Acid Serum- I have had this for about 3 weeks now and OMG this is amazing. I am not going to go into detail now because I have a full review on in coming soon. I purchased this on amazon and it was an amazing bargain.
8. Jordana Easyliner Lip liners- I have at least 4 of these already so I just picked up to more to expand my collection. I purchased the colors Terra Kiss and Cabernet.  Cabernet is a deep burgundy color and Terra Kiss is a mauve-y, red-ish,  brown color.
9. CVS Apricot Scrub- I have used this for years. I just needed to repurchase it.

Fall Must Haves

Hey Dolls!

Fall is almost upon us. Which means it's time to prepare for the cooler weather. To help you Dolls
prepare today's post is going to be my Fall Must Haves. I will be sharing my beauty, fashion, food, and skincare must haves. So, let's jump into it!

Let's begin with skincare...
  1. Hyaluronic Acid Serum- This is a great serum for hydrating and perfecting the skin. This absorbs well into my skin. Does not feel as greasy residue or a sticky film. I purchased mine on Amazon. I will leave the link below. BTW: As many of you know I have oily skin. Although my skin is oily I do use moisturizing night time skin care products. These products keep my skin soft and supple. So, when I am 90 I will look 70.
  2. Creighton's Body Butter- I adore these body butters! They are super hydrating but, never sticky or hard to absorb and these body butters smell outstanding. (My personal favorite is the mango and papaya balance.) I find mine at Ross. They usually run me about $3.99.
  3. Carmex- Lip balm is important year round however, it is super important in cooler months. This is because lips can become extra dry and chapped. My favorite is Carmex. I love Carmex because it is medicated and it has an SPF.
Onto scents...
  1. Beyoncé Heat- I love all of Beyoncé's perfumes but, Heat is perfect for Fall. It is a warm, spicy scent that is never overbearing. This scent is super lightweight and great for everyday wear.
  2. Pumpkin Spice- I love the glade pumpkin spice air freshener. It is the perfect mix between spice and sweet.
Now fashion...
P.S. I don't have any links to clothing items because I have had these for many months/years. So, I will be just listing staples in my wardrobe.
  1.  Flannels- I love flannels. Patterns are a great way to spice up a basic outfit. I usually pair flannels with skinny jeans, combat boots, and a simple pair of hooped earrings.
  2. Combat boots- Combat boots are the easiest way to had some edge to a basic outfit. usually pair them with jeans and a simple t-shirt.
  3. Long Sleeve T-shirts- Long sleeve t-shirts are a staple in my Fall wardrobe. I pair them with skater skirts, jeans, leggings, and yoga pants.
  4. Scarves- I don't think I could make it through the Fall without scarves! I have several different designs because they are perfect for accessorizing a basic look. For example, a long sleeve t-shirt and a skater shirt.
  5. Tights and Leggings- I love to have tights because I can pair it with any dress or skirt for warmth. I love leggings because they are a great alterative to pants.
  6. Bodycon dresses- I usually invest in a good bodycon dress because they are great for lazy or running late days. I usually throw on a solid color bodycon dress, a scarf, a jean jacket, and some heeled booties.
  7. Riding boots- I kid you not I wear my riding boots throughtout all of Fall, Winter, and early Spring. A good pair of riding boots can make any look. The following are some of the ways I wear riding boots...
    1. A sweater dress, tights, and riding boots
    2. A long Flannel, long sleeve t-shirt, skinny jeans, and riding boots.
    3. A cropped sweater, high waisted jeans, and riding boots.
    4. Sweater, jeans, and riding boots.
    5. A bodycon dress, a jacket, scarf, and riding boots.
    6. High to low blouse, leggings, and riding boots
  8. Sweaters- I live in sweaters during the Fall. They are a great way to stay warm and chic.
  9. Cardigans and Jackets- I have long cardigans, knit cardigans, leather jackets, jean jackets, etc. They are all a great way to layer up and depth to an otherwise boring outfit.
  10. Gold Chain necklaces- I love chucky, statement, warm toned jewelry during this time of year. Which is why gold chain necklaces are my go-to pieces of jewelry.
Next up, nail polishes...
  1. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color in 340 Cinna-snap- This nail polish is perfect. It is a beautiful cranberry color. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves deep colors.
  2. Metallic dark purple nail polish- I love metallic dark purple nail polish quite a bit. I love it so much that I actually have two nail polishes that fit in this category. The first is Sephora by O.P.I in Just a Little Dangerous and the second is Wet n Wild Mega Last in 217B Disturbia.
  3. Sinful Color in 1034 Beau Khaki- This is a gorgeous moss green color. I love that this is like a bold in the sense that it is green but, it is subtle in the sense that it is a muted color.
  4. Wet n Wild Mega Last in 201C Wet Cement- This my go-to muted purple. (Which is quite unique in my opinion.) It has an amazing grayish purple tone to it. I have been using this color every Fall for the last three years.
  5. Gold Nail Polish- I love warm, metallic colors. So of course I love gold nail polish. I have two favorites which are Sephora by O.P.I  in Keep me on my Mistletoes and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color in Going for the Gold.
  6. Sinful Color in 813 What's Your Name- I LOVE BLACK NAIL POLISH! (If you didn't know... now you do.) Black nail polish is my go-to color year round. So, when I found this black nail polish with navy blue shimmery particles in it I went nuts. (to say the least.) This color is a great twist on a basic staple of mine. I highly recommend it to you Dolls!
  7. Maybelline Color Show in 430 Onyx Rush- I figured sense I mentioned my love affair with black nail polish I would mention my favorite black nail polish of all time. I like this product because it is pigmented and true to color. I hate it when black products are a dull black. (Almost like a dark gray instead of black.)
  8. Sinful Colors in 949 Nirvana- This is a mauve-y medium brown nail polish. It is a great everyday nail polish because it is so neutral toned.
  9. O.P.I in You Callin' Me a Lyre? This is a gorgeous sheer, milky pink shade. It is about the most sheer nail polish I own. I use this when I don't want too much color on my nails but I want them to still look polished.
  10. Wet n Wild Mega Last in 204B Private Viewing- This is the perfect nude nail polish for my skin tone. It has a mix of pink and brown in it.
Now for my favorite stuff!... MAKEUP!
  1. Urban Decay Naked Palette- This is a gorgeous warm toned, neutral eyeshadow palette. It has a great variety of shades inside. I can transition from day to night by just using this palette.
  2. Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette- This is a neutral palette. The tones inside are rose gold. Which is a mix between cool and warm tones. Again this has a variety of shades which make it great for day to night use.
  3. ELF 32 color eyeshadow palette in Warm- This was the first eyeshadow palette I owned and I still have it an use it. It is a staple for me because it is affordable and has a great variety of shades. It isn't as good quality as other palettes but with a good primer and/ or eyeshadow base and a good set of brushes it does the trick. I enjoy it because it has some amazing deep purple, mauve, and burgundy shades which are essential for Fall makeup!
  4. Wet n Wild Shimmer Palette in Carnaval in Rio- This a gorgeous copper highlight. It really is great to pair with a deep purple eyeshadow look. I won't go too far into detail with this because I do have a full review on this palette on my blog. I will link it below.
  5. Wet n Wild Shimmer Palette in Rose Gold Goddess- This is another amazing highlight to pair with a neutral tones eyeshadow look. Again I don't go into too much detail here because I have a review of this palette which is linked below.
  6. NYX cream blush in Diva- This is a beautiful cool toned red blush. This is highly pigmented and long lasting. It is great for pairing with cool toned looks or neutral toned looks.
  7. Profusion Twinkle Twinkle 5 color eyeshadow palettes- These are the best drugstore eyeshadow palette I have ever used. Each shade is buttery and highly pigmented. Plus they are only a dollar and sold at select Walgreens. The only issue is the don't have any matte shadows in them which means you would need to find matte transition shades else where. I have two of these palettes. The first is the purple palette which as a white shade, a lilac shade, a cool toned deep purple shade, a navy blue, and a black. The second is the green palette which as a medium brown shade, a dark brown shade, a light green shade, a dark teal shade, and an extremely dark blue shade.
  8. Wet n Wild lipstick in 918D Cherry Bomb- This lipstick is a semi-matte cranberry color. I have been using this shade for two years and I can say it is a great drugstore lipstick. It is long lasting, creamy, and highly pigmented.
  9. Milani HD Advanced Lip Color in 118 Premiere Plum- This is a glossy medium purple color.  (I wouldn't say it is plum at all.) It really reminds me of  lip balm because of how moisturizing it is. It gives a sheer application. However, it is buildable. (Which means you can apply more product to intensify the color payoff.) I love this color for everyday use. It is a great way to add a little bit of color without going too bold. I generally pair it with winged liner.
  10. Milani Lipstick in 24 Black Cherry- Similar to the Wet n Wild Cherry Bomb Lipstick I mentioned earlier except it is a tad bit darker and it has a sheen to it. Other than that they are pretty much the shade color.
  11. Jordana Easyliner in Coco Loco- This is a neutral toned brown lip liner which is great for making a nude lip color darker or simply for adding definition to my lips for any other color.
  12. Jordana Easyliner in Terra Kiss- This is a red-ish, mauve-y lip liner which I love to pair with mauve lip colors to add definition to my lips.
  13. Jordana Easyliner in Cabernet- This lip liner is the same color as the Milani Black Cherry Lipstick. Which is what I pair it with. Sometimes I pair it with the Wet n Wild Cherry Bomb lipstick as well.

Let's move to food...
  1. Chai tea Lattes- I love these because they spicy, warm, and comforting. They are a great change in my daily coffee routine. I did post my recipe on the blog last week.
  2. Starbucks White Mocha- It's available all year round however, I love to get this when it is cooler out.
  3. Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte- This is a seasonal drink that is super cozy. It has the right amount of spice that makes it my ideal fall drink.
That's all Folks!

That was all of my Fall must haves. I know it seems like a lot of stuff but I really do use all of these things in the Fall.

How to: Prolong the Wear of Your Nail Polish

Hey Dolls!

Putting on nail polish can be a pain. And with the time and effort it takes to put it on you probably want it to last. So, today's post is going to be a few tips on how to prolong the wear of your nail polish. Let's jump into it!

  1. Smooth the surface of your nail. Take a fine file and remove any rough or raised surface space on your nails. This will ensure you nail polish goes on well.
  2. Wash nails thoroughly and dry nails well BEFORE applying nail polish. The oils from your hands can get onto the surface of your nails. Oil will prevent the polish from sticking as well as it could.
  3. Use a base coat. A base coat will protect your nail from discoloration as well as create a smooth base for your nail polish to sit on.
  4. Use a top coat. A top coat not only adds shine but it locks in your nail color.
  5. Use good quality nail polish. Quality nail polish does not have to be expensive but, the better the quality the longer the polish will last.
  6. Try a gel based formula. Gel nail polish will last several days longer than regular polish.
That's all folks!

That was a few simple tips to prolonging the wear of your nail polish. I hope you Dolls found this helpful. Chai Tea Latte

Hey Dolls!

Fall is upon us which means it's time to enjoy warm drinks. As we grow older coffee seems to be the warm drink of choice but, what if you don't like coffee? Then there is tea. However, tea can be quite boring sometimes. So, today I am going to share with you my favorite fall tea drink. Let's jump into it!

Let's begin with the ingredients...
1. A saucepan
2. 2 bags of your favorite chai tea
3. 2/4 cup of a milk of your choice. (I prefer almond milk.)
4. 1 to teaspoons of sugar. (I used beet rock sugar.)
5. 1 stick of cinnamon
6. Ground nutmeg
7. Ground cinnamon
8. Whipped cream. (I like fat free, low sugar cool whip.)
9. A cup
10. 1/4 of water

Onto the recipe...
1. Boil water in a kettle.
2. While you wait for the water to boil add 2/4 cup milk to a sauce pan then add your stick of cinnamon and the 2 cloves to the milk. Once the milk has come to a boil add you sugar. Make sure your sugar dissolves completely. Then put your milk off to the side to cool slightly. Remember to remove the cloves and cinnamon stick once the mixture has stopped boiling.
*if you would like you milk to be more latte-isque whip the milk for several moments.*
3. Once the water is finished boiling pour 1/4 cup of water into a mug.
4. Add your two teabags to the mug of water. Then allowed to steep for several minutes.
5. Add you milk to the steeping tea mixture. Remember to leave room for whipped cream.
6. Once the tea has steeped remove the teabags from the mug. Make sure you get all of the tea out of the bags. A trick I have is to take two spoons and press the teabag against the spoons with your fingers that will ensure all of the tea is out of the bag.
7. Now that everything is in your mug, stir everything together.
8. Add as much whipped cream as you would like. Then garnish the drink with ground nutmeg and ground cinnamon.

That's all folks!

That is my chai tea latte recipe. It is honestly one of my favorite fall drinks. I enjoy it so much because it is an amazing substitute to coffee. I hope you Dolls try it out!

August Beauty Favorites

Hey Dolls!

August has come to an end and September is upon us. Which means it's monthly beauty favorites time! So, let's jump into it.

Let's begin with skincare...
  1. Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash Clarifying Cleanser: I adore this cleanser! It really deep cleans my skin. Thought it deep cleans it never dries out my skin or makes it tight. I use it daily and it has really helped my acne subside. I recommend this for oily, acne prone skin.
Now to hair products...
  1. Eco Styler Professional Olive Oil Styling Gel: This gel is amazing for laying the hair down. It's not too drying and it does not flake. (Unless you have been reapplying for days on dirty hair.) I recommend this for anyone who is searching for a good hair gel.
  2. Tresemme Extra Firm Control Tres Two Non-Aerosol Hair Spray: I love this hairspray because it helps my hair really helps my hair stay in place all day. I also noticed that this  product does not make my hair sticky or crunchy. I do like that it is non-aerosol because I don't want to mess with the ozone layer unnecessarily.
Let's move onto makeup...
  1. NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu: This is the prefect everyday pinkish, mauve-y nude lipgloss. It is not at all sticky and it smells out of this world good! I totally recommend to Dolls go out and pick this up!
  2. ELF Extra Lip Gloss in Scott: This is a gorgeous pinky nude lip gloss with  light shimmer inside. It's super pigmented. I love to use this on an everyday basis. However, this would be great to mix with a lipstick that maybe too light for you or to pair with a super dramatic eye look. It's super affordable and I highly recommend it.
  3. Milani Lipstick (I don't know the name of the collection. This lipstick is in the gold container.) in 24 Black Cherry: GIRL! I am head over heels in love with this color. It is a magnificent deep cranberry lipstick. It is super pigmented, gives a great shine without being glittery, and it is uber moisturizing. Without a doubt this is going to be prefect for fall and winter. This is hands down my favorite dark lipstick EVER! I highly recommend it to you dolls! BTW: I am working on some fall themed makeup posts at the moment. Stay tuned for those.
  4. Jordana Easyliner For Lips in Cabernet: This lip liner works perfectly along side the Milani lipstick I mentioned above. I usually line and fill in my lips with this lip liner then I place the lipstick on top. They are a match made in heaven.
  5. ELF eyelash curler: I recently picked up ELF's new eyelash curler and I love it! I am so glad they changed the design. It curls my lashes like a curl. I don't experience lash fallout nor do I experience any pain with this.
  6. NYX soft matte lip cream in London: This is a mauve-y, brownish nude. I love this because it is prefect for recreating the iconic Kylie Jenner look on darker skin tones. It is super matte and highly pigmented. Although this is a great lip product it can be a bit drying. I suggest exfoliating for lips before using this and prep your lips for at least five minutes with a uber hydrating lip balm. (If you have a medium skin tone the matte lip cream in Stockholm would work for you.)

That's all folks!

That was my August beauty favorites. I know I had a quite a few lip products. That is because I have been trying to venture out with lip products.

August Non-beauty Favorites

Hey Dolls!

August is over and September is upon us. Which means it's time for my August non-beauty favorites. So, let's jump into it!

Let's begin with food!

  1. Multigrain Cheerios Dark Chocolate Crunch: These are out of this world good! The cereal consists of multigrain Cheerios, dark chocolate Cheerios and, dark chocolate crunchy clusters. It tastes like chocolate heaven in a bowl. I highly recommend this cereal to anyone who loves chocolate as much as me!
Now to music!
  1. James Bay- Let It Go: I adore this song. I literally listen to it about 10 times... In a row... Everyday. James Bay is a soulful singer with an Alternative flare. His voice reminds me of Sam Smith but, his music style reminds me of John Mayer. He recently dropped an album. (Which is equally as fantastic as this song.) I recommend him to people who love soulful music like John Mayer, Sam Smith, or John Legend
  2. Jesse McCartney- In Technicolor: This album is about two months old. However, I downloaded it this past month because I loved the first half of the album (which dropped this past December). This album reminds me a lot of Justin Timberlake's last album. It has an old school edge. It's chalked full of love songs and up-beat rhythms. It's great for people who love Justin Timberlake or up-beat love songs.
  3. Drake- 0 to 100/The Catch-up: This reminds me a lot of  Drake's older albums. He delivers hip pop with a R&B flare. In my opinion this song definitely goes hard. Anyone who loves Drake or Hip Hop will love this song.
  4. Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, and Jessie J- Bang Bang: This song is amazing to say the least. Ariana and Jessie voices make this song amazing. I love that song's old school, girl group feel. It's definitely is a song that can put you in a good mood. As for Nicki's verse I personally don't think she made the song good. For me she was just there. I honestly could care less about her part. It really just sounds like rambling. Of course if you are a Nicki Minaj fan you will love that song as well. I recommend it to anyone who loves pop music and dynamic voices.
Let's move to YouTubers...

WhatWouldLizzyDo
  1. What Would Lizzy Do- Lizzy is a beauty YouTuber. I have been watching her for about two months and I can honestly say her videos are great quality. She is a gorgeous girl with a great personality, she never comes across as rude or stuck up, she provides lots of information in each video, and she is so funny. I recommend her to all of you Dolls!
That's all folks!
I didn't have that many non-beauty favorites this month because I have been buying more beauty products than anything. With that said I have some new makeup tutorials coming soon. So, stay tuned! (Hey I'm a poetic and I didn't even know it!)

I hope you found this post helpful. If you have questions or comments about this post leave them in the comment section below. If you would like to contact me refer to the 'follow me' section below.
