DIY Moisturizing, Stimulating Scrub

Hey Dolls!

Winter is here and it is reeking on our skin! The cool temperatures suck the moisture out of the skin. Which is why it is common for people to experience tight, dehydrated, flaky, itchy, or dull looking skin. If you are suffering from any of these issues I suggest using hydrating moisturizer and scrub. As I am sure you all know spas, department stores, and drugstores are filled with products that claim to rejuvenate and moisturize the skin but, often those products don't work or they are expensive to continuously repurchase. An alternative to buying products is making products. Often times making skin care yourself results in less money spent as well as a better result because, you choose what products you use on your skin. This means each product is tailor made for you to use and should give your skin the best result. With that being said I would like to share my favorite all natural, DIY (do it yourself) skin care products with you Dolls; I am creating a series called Au naturel. This series is only going to cover natural and DIY skin care topics.
Cinnamon

Tea Tree Oil
Today's post will begin this series; today's post is going to be on a DIY moisturizing, stimulating scrub. This scrub can be used on the face or body. It can be used on the face no more than two times a week
(depending on the skin type and skin tone) and it can be used on the body no more than two times a week. This scrub contains stimulating oils and spices like peppermint oil or tree tree oil or cinnamon. If you are allergic or sensitive to these products please do not use this scrub. Also, if you have roseca or extremely sensitive skin please don't use this scrub. I recommend this scrub for anyone with dull, dehydrated skin. Oily and combination skin could benefit from this product. If you have acne prone skin please beware of over stimulation. Over stimulation may cause acne.

Lastly, feel free to add any other ingredients or take away any ingredients. This recipe is what works for me. Please remember to look at this as a suggestion and not a requirement. With all of that said let's jump into it!

What ingredients you will need:

  • 3 to 6 drops of tea tree oil, peppermint oil, or another stimulating essential oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon of freshly ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of organic honey
  • 1/4 cup of brown or white sugar
What tools you will need:
  • a bowl with a top
  • a spoon
  • measuring cups and spoons
The recipe:
  • Add the sugar into your bowl.
  • Then add in all of the other ingredients.
  • Mix the mixture until it is completely combined.
  • Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Tips and Tricks:
  • When using this on the face, use your hands and circular motions. DO NOT use a clarsonic or any other tool; using a tool will damage the skin.
  • Remove this product with warm water.
Once you have incorporated this scrub into your skin care routine you will begin to see and feel the difference in your skin. My skin became soft, smooth, more even in appearance, and luminous.

That's all folks!
