Fall Must Haves

Hey Dolls!

Fall is almost upon us. Which means it's time to prepare for the cooler weather. To help you Dolls
prepare today's post is going to be my Fall Must Haves. I will be sharing my beauty, fashion, food, and skincare must haves. So, let's jump into it!

Let's begin with skincare...
  1. Hyaluronic Acid Serum- This is a great serum for hydrating and perfecting the skin. This absorbs well into my skin. Does not feel as greasy residue or a sticky film. I purchased mine on Amazon. I will leave the link below. BTW: As many of you know I have oily skin. Although my skin is oily I do use moisturizing night time skin care products. These products keep my skin soft and supple. So, when I am 90 I will look 70.
  2. Creighton's Body Butter- I adore these body butters! They are super hydrating but, never sticky or hard to absorb and these body butters smell outstanding. (My personal favorite is the mango and papaya balance.) I find mine at Ross. They usually run me about $3.99.
  3. Carmex- Lip balm is important year round however, it is super important in cooler months. This is because lips can become extra dry and chapped. My favorite is Carmex. I love Carmex because it is medicated and it has an SPF.
Onto scents...
  1. BeyoncĂ© Heat- I love all of BeyoncĂ©'s perfumes but, Heat is perfect for Fall. It is a warm, spicy scent that is never overbearing. This scent is super lightweight and great for everyday wear.
  2. Pumpkin Spice- I love the glade pumpkin spice air freshener. It is the perfect mix between spice and sweet.
Now fashion...
P.S. I don't have any links to clothing items because I have had these for many months/years. So, I will be just listing staples in my wardrobe.
  1.  Flannels- I love flannels. Patterns are a great way to spice up a basic outfit. I usually pair flannels with skinny jeans, combat boots, and a simple pair of hooped earrings.
  2. Combat boots- Combat boots are the easiest way to had some edge to a basic outfit. usually pair them with jeans and a simple t-shirt.
  3. Long Sleeve T-shirts- Long sleeve t-shirts are a staple in my Fall wardrobe. I pair them with skater skirts, jeans, leggings, and yoga pants.
  4. Scarves- I don't think I could make it through the Fall without scarves! I have several different designs because they are perfect for accessorizing a basic look. For example, a long sleeve t-shirt and a skater shirt.
  5. Tights and Leggings- I love to have tights because I can pair it with any dress or skirt for warmth. I love leggings because they are a great alterative to pants.
  6. Bodycon dresses- I usually invest in a good bodycon dress because they are great for lazy or running late days. I usually throw on a solid color bodycon dress, a scarf, a jean jacket, and some heeled booties.
  7. Riding boots- I kid you not I wear my riding boots throughtout all of Fall, Winter, and early Spring. A good pair of riding boots can make any look. The following are some of the ways I wear riding boots...
    1. A sweater dress, tights, and riding boots
    2. A long Flannel, long sleeve t-shirt, skinny jeans, and riding boots.
    3. A cropped sweater, high waisted jeans, and riding boots.
    4. Sweater, jeans, and riding boots.
    5. A bodycon dress, a jacket, scarf, and riding boots.
    6. High to low blouse, leggings, and riding boots
  8. Sweaters- I live in sweaters during the Fall. They are a great way to stay warm and chic.
  9. Cardigans and Jackets- I have long cardigans, knit cardigans, leather jackets, jean jackets, etc. They are all a great way to layer up and depth to an otherwise boring outfit.
  10. Gold Chain necklaces- I love chucky, statement, warm toned jewelry during this time of year. Which is why gold chain necklaces are my go-to pieces of jewelry.
Next up, nail polishes...
  1. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color in 340 Cinna-snap- This nail polish is perfect. It is a beautiful cranberry color. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves deep colors.
  2. Metallic dark purple nail polish- I love metallic dark purple nail polish quite a bit. I love it so much that I actually have two nail polishes that fit in this category. The first is Sephora by O.P.I in Just a Little Dangerous and the second is Wet n Wild Mega Last in 217B Disturbia.
  3. Sinful Color in 1034 Beau Khaki- This is a gorgeous moss green color. I love that this is like a bold in the sense that it is green but, it is subtle in the sense that it is a muted color.
  4. Wet n Wild Mega Last in 201C Wet Cement- This my go-to muted purple. (Which is quite unique in my opinion.) It has an amazing grayish purple tone to it. I have been using this color every Fall for the last three years.
  5. Gold Nail Polish- I love warm, metallic colors. So of course I love gold nail polish. I have two favorites which are Sephora by O.P.I  in Keep me on my Mistletoes and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color in Going for the Gold.
  6. Sinful Color in 813 What's Your Name- I LOVE BLACK NAIL POLISH! (If you didn't know... now you do.) Black nail polish is my go-to color year round. So, when I found this black nail polish with navy blue shimmery particles in it I went nuts. (to say the least.) This color is a great twist on a basic staple of mine. I highly recommend it to you Dolls!
  7. Maybelline Color Show in 430 Onyx Rush- I figured sense I mentioned my love affair with black nail polish I would mention my favorite black nail polish of all time. I like this product because it is pigmented and true to color. I hate it when black products are a dull black. (Almost like a dark gray instead of black.)
  8. Sinful Colors in 949 Nirvana- This is a mauve-y medium brown nail polish. It is a great everyday nail polish because it is so neutral toned.
  9. O.P.I in You Callin' Me a Lyre? This is a gorgeous sheer, milky pink shade. It is about the most sheer nail polish I own. I use this when I don't want too much color on my nails but I want them to still look polished.
  10. Wet n Wild Mega Last in 204B Private Viewing- This is the perfect nude nail polish for my skin tone. It has a mix of pink and brown in it.
Now for my favorite stuff!... MAKEUP!
  1. Urban Decay Naked Palette- This is a gorgeous warm toned, neutral eyeshadow palette. It has a great variety of shades inside. I can transition from day to night by just using this palette.
  2. Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette- This is a neutral palette. The tones inside are rose gold. Which is a mix between cool and warm tones. Again this has a variety of shades which make it great for day to night use.
  3. ELF 32 color eyeshadow palette in Warm- This was the first eyeshadow palette I owned and I still have it an use it. It is a staple for me because it is affordable and has a great variety of shades. It isn't as good quality as other palettes but with a good primer and/ or eyeshadow base and a good set of brushes it does the trick. I enjoy it because it has some amazing deep purple, mauve, and burgundy shades which are essential for Fall makeup!
  4. Wet n Wild Shimmer Palette in Carnaval in Rio- This a gorgeous copper highlight. It really is great to pair with a deep purple eyeshadow look. I won't go too far into detail with this because I do have a full review on this palette on my blog. I will link it below.
  5. Wet n Wild Shimmer Palette in Rose Gold Goddess- This is another amazing highlight to pair with a neutral tones eyeshadow look. Again I don't go into too much detail here because I have a review of this palette which is linked below.
  6. NYX cream blush in Diva- This is a beautiful cool toned red blush. This is highly pigmented and long lasting. It is great for pairing with cool toned looks or neutral toned looks.
  7. Profusion Twinkle Twinkle 5 color eyeshadow palettes- These are the best drugstore eyeshadow palette I have ever used. Each shade is buttery and highly pigmented. Plus they are only a dollar and sold at select Walgreens. The only issue is the don't have any matte shadows in them which means you would need to find matte transition shades else where. I have two of these palettes. The first is the purple palette which as a white shade, a lilac shade, a cool toned deep purple shade, a navy blue, and a black. The second is the green palette which as a medium brown shade, a dark brown shade, a light green shade, a dark teal shade, and an extremely dark blue shade.
  8. Wet n Wild lipstick in 918D Cherry Bomb- This lipstick is a semi-matte cranberry color. I have been using this shade for two years and I can say it is a great drugstore lipstick. It is long lasting, creamy, and highly pigmented.
  9. Milani HD Advanced Lip Color in 118 Premiere Plum- This is a glossy medium purple color.  (I wouldn't say it is plum at all.) It really reminds me of  lip balm because of how moisturizing it is. It gives a sheer application. However, it is buildable. (Which means you can apply more product to intensify the color payoff.) I love this color for everyday use. It is a great way to add a little bit of color without going too bold. I generally pair it with winged liner.
  10. Milani Lipstick in 24 Black Cherry- Similar to the Wet n Wild Cherry Bomb Lipstick I mentioned earlier except it is a tad bit darker and it has a sheen to it. Other than that they are pretty much the shade color.
  11. Jordana Easyliner in Coco Loco- This is a neutral toned brown lip liner which is great for making a nude lip color darker or simply for adding definition to my lips for any other color.
  12. Jordana Easyliner in Terra Kiss- This is a red-ish, mauve-y lip liner which I love to pair with mauve lip colors to add definition to my lips.
  13. Jordana Easyliner in Cabernet- This lip liner is the same color as the Milani Black Cherry Lipstick. Which is what I pair it with. Sometimes I pair it with the Wet n Wild Cherry Bomb lipstick as well.

Let's move to food...
  1. Chai tea Lattes- I love these because they spicy, warm, and comforting. They are a great change in my daily coffee routine. I did post my recipe on the blog last week.
  2. Starbucks White Mocha- It's available all year round however, I love to get this when it is cooler out.
  3. Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte- This is a seasonal drink that is super cozy. It has the right amount of spice that makes it my ideal fall drink.
That's all Folks!

That was all of my Fall must haves. I know it seems like a lot of stuff but I really do use all of these things in the Fall.

How to: Prolong the Wear of Your Nail Polish

Hey Dolls!

Putting on nail polish can be a pain. And with the time and effort it takes to put it on you probably want it to last. So, today's post is going to be a few tips on how to prolong the wear of your nail polish. Let's jump into it!

  1. Smooth the surface of your nail. Take a fine file and remove any rough or raised surface space on your nails. This will ensure you nail polish goes on well.
  2. Wash nails thoroughly and dry nails well BEFORE applying nail polish. The oils from your hands can get onto the surface of your nails. Oil will prevent the polish from sticking as well as it could.
  3. Use a base coat. A base coat will protect your nail from discoloration as well as create a smooth base for your nail polish to sit on.
  4. Use a top coat. A top coat not only adds shine but it locks in your nail color.
  5. Use good quality nail polish. Quality nail polish does not have to be expensive but, the better the quality the longer the polish will last.
  6. Try a gel based formula. Gel nail polish will last several days longer than regular polish.
That's all folks!

That was a few simple tips to prolonging the wear of your nail polish. I hope you Dolls found this helpful. Chai Tea Latte

Hey Dolls!

Fall is upon us which means it's time to enjoy warm drinks. As we grow older coffee seems to be the warm drink of choice but, what if you don't like coffee? Then there is tea. However, tea can be quite boring sometimes. So, today I am going to share with you my favorite fall tea drink. Let's jump into it!

Let's begin with the ingredients...
1. A saucepan
2. 2 bags of your favorite chai tea
3. 2/4 cup of a milk of your choice. (I prefer almond milk.)
4. 1 to teaspoons of sugar. (I used beet rock sugar.)
5. 1 stick of cinnamon
6. Ground nutmeg
7. Ground cinnamon
8. Whipped cream. (I like fat free, low sugar cool whip.)
9. A cup
10. 1/4 of water

Onto the recipe...
1. Boil water in a kettle.
2. While you wait for the water to boil add 2/4 cup milk to a sauce pan then add your stick of cinnamon and the 2 cloves to the milk. Once the milk has come to a boil add you sugar. Make sure your sugar dissolves completely. Then put your milk off to the side to cool slightly. Remember to remove the cloves and cinnamon stick once the mixture has stopped boiling.
*if you would like you milk to be more latte-isque whip the milk for several moments.*
3. Once the water is finished boiling pour 1/4 cup of water into a mug.
4. Add your two teabags to the mug of water. Then allowed to steep for several minutes.
5. Add you milk to the steeping tea mixture. Remember to leave room for whipped cream.
6. Once the tea has steeped remove the teabags from the mug. Make sure you get all of the tea out of the bags. A trick I have is to take two spoons and press the teabag against the spoons with your fingers that will ensure all of the tea is out of the bag.
7. Now that everything is in your mug, stir everything together.
8. Add as much whipped cream as you would like. Then garnish the drink with ground nutmeg and ground cinnamon.

That's all folks!

That is my chai tea latte recipe. It is honestly one of my favorite fall drinks. I enjoy it so much because it is an amazing substitute to coffee. I hope you Dolls try it out!

August Beauty Favorites

Hey Dolls!

August has come to an end and September is upon us. Which means it's monthly beauty favorites time! So, let's jump into it.

Let's begin with skincare...
  1. Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash Clarifying Cleanser: I adore this cleanser! It really deep cleans my skin. Thought it deep cleans it never dries out my skin or makes it tight. I use it daily and it has really helped my acne subside. I recommend this for oily, acne prone skin.
Now to hair products...
  1. Eco Styler Professional Olive Oil Styling Gel: This gel is amazing for laying the hair down. It's not too drying and it does not flake. (Unless you have been reapplying for days on dirty hair.) I recommend this for anyone who is searching for a good hair gel.
  2. Tresemme Extra Firm Control Tres Two Non-Aerosol Hair Spray: I love this hairspray because it helps my hair really helps my hair stay in place all day. I also noticed that this  product does not make my hair sticky or crunchy. I do like that it is non-aerosol because I don't want to mess with the ozone layer unnecessarily.
Let's move onto makeup...
  1. NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu: This is the prefect everyday pinkish, mauve-y nude lipgloss. It is not at all sticky and it smells out of this world good! I totally recommend to Dolls go out and pick this up!
  2. ELF Extra Lip Gloss in Scott: This is a gorgeous pinky nude lip gloss with  light shimmer inside. It's super pigmented. I love to use this on an everyday basis. However, this would be great to mix with a lipstick that maybe too light for you or to pair with a super dramatic eye look. It's super affordable and I highly recommend it.
  3. Milani Lipstick (I don't know the name of the collection. This lipstick is in the gold container.) in 24 Black Cherry: GIRL! I am head over heels in love with this color. It is a magnificent deep cranberry lipstick. It is super pigmented, gives a great shine without being glittery, and it is uber moisturizing. Without a doubt this is going to be prefect for fall and winter. This is hands down my favorite dark lipstick EVER! I highly recommend it to you dolls! BTW: I am working on some fall themed makeup posts at the moment. Stay tuned for those.
  4. Jordana Easyliner For Lips in Cabernet: This lip liner works perfectly along side the Milani lipstick I mentioned above. I usually line and fill in my lips with this lip liner then I place the lipstick on top. They are a match made in heaven.
  5. ELF eyelash curler: I recently picked up ELF's new eyelash curler and I love it! I am so glad they changed the design. It curls my lashes like a curl. I don't experience lash fallout nor do I experience any pain with this.
  6. NYX soft matte lip cream in London: This is a mauve-y, brownish nude. I love this because it is prefect for recreating the iconic Kylie Jenner look on darker skin tones. It is super matte and highly pigmented. Although this is a great lip product it can be a bit drying. I suggest exfoliating for lips before using this and prep your lips for at least five minutes with a uber hydrating lip balm. (If you have a medium skin tone the matte lip cream in Stockholm would work for you.)

That's all folks!

That was my August beauty favorites. I know I had a quite a few lip products. That is because I have been trying to venture out with lip products.

August Non-beauty Favorites

Hey Dolls!

August is over and September is upon us. Which means it's time for my August non-beauty favorites. So, let's jump into it!

Let's begin with food!

  1. Multigrain Cheerios Dark Chocolate Crunch: These are out of this world good! The cereal consists of multigrain Cheerios, dark chocolate Cheerios and, dark chocolate crunchy clusters. It tastes like chocolate heaven in a bowl. I highly recommend this cereal to anyone who loves chocolate as much as me!
Now to music!
  1. James Bay- Let It Go: I adore this song. I literally listen to it about 10 times... In a row... Everyday. James Bay is a soulful singer with an Alternative flare. His voice reminds me of Sam Smith but, his music style reminds me of John Mayer. He recently dropped an album. (Which is equally as fantastic as this song.) I recommend him to people who love soulful music like John Mayer, Sam Smith, or John Legend
  2. Jesse McCartney- In Technicolor: This album is about two months old. However, I downloaded it this past month because I loved the first half of the album (which dropped this past December). This album reminds me a lot of Justin Timberlake's last album. It has an old school edge. It's chalked full of love songs and up-beat rhythms. It's great for people who love Justin Timberlake or up-beat love songs.
  3. Drake- 0 to 100/The Catch-up: This reminds me a lot of  Drake's older albums. He delivers hip pop with a R&B flare. In my opinion this song definitely goes hard. Anyone who loves Drake or Hip Hop will love this song.
  4. Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, and Jessie J- Bang Bang: This song is amazing to say the least. Ariana and Jessie voices make this song amazing. I love that song's old school, girl group feel. It's definitely is a song that can put you in a good mood. As for Nicki's verse I personally don't think she made the song good. For me she was just there. I honestly could care less about her part. It really just sounds like rambling. Of course if you are a Nicki Minaj fan you will love that song as well. I recommend it to anyone who loves pop music and dynamic voices.
Let's move to YouTubers...

WhatWouldLizzyDo
  1. What Would Lizzy Do- Lizzy is a beauty YouTuber. I have been watching her for about two months and I can honestly say her videos are great quality. She is a gorgeous girl with a great personality, she never comes across as rude or stuck up, she provides lots of information in each video, and she is so funny. I recommend her to all of you Dolls!
That's all folks!
I didn't have that many non-beauty favorites this month because I have been buying more beauty products than anything. With that said I have some new makeup tutorials coming soon. So, stay tuned! (Hey I'm a poetic and I didn't even know it!)

I hope you found this post helpful. If you have questions or comments about this post leave them in the comment section below. If you would like to contact me refer to the 'follow me' section below.
