August Un-favorites

Hey Dolls!

Today's post is going to be a little different from my other monthly favorites. This is going to be my monthly un-favorites post. Which is all of the products I did not like this month. I really wanted to do this because, posts like this help people decide whether to purchase something. (Similar to my favorites.) I will give alternatives to each product after I explain why I didn't not enjoy said product. Because this post is of un-favorites I want you guys to know I am not trying to be a "negative Nancy". I am just trying to give you guys some information. So, with all that said I hope you guys like this type of post. Let's jump into it!

  1. Fantasia IC Hair Polisher Olive Styling Gel: This is by far the most drying hair gel I have ever used. My hair gets super crunchy and flaky when I use this gel. If you are in the market for a good hair gel I recommend Eco Styler Professional Olive Oil Styling Gel.
  2. Maybelline Expert Eyes 100% oil free eye makeup remover: This product does not remove any of my eye makeup once so ever. I did a full review on this product if you want to know my detailed thoughts on this product. I would recommend olive oil or baby oil instead. (Even if you have oily skin.) Just remove your make with the oil and continue on with a face wash of your choice.
  3.  CVS night-time makeup remover cleansing cloths: I am not a fan of these wipes at all. 1. They have a weird scent that does not vibe well with my nose. 2. It takes 2-3 wipes to clean all of the makeup off my face and it still isn't all gone. 3. They are suppose to be gentle but, they actually burn my eyes. I suggest as an alternative Neutrogena's regular makeup remover wipes. They definitely get off all of my makeup. When these wipes are completely used up I will purchase the Neutrogena makeup remover wipes.
  4. Crest Complete Fluoride Toothpaste: This toothpaste did absolutely nothing. My teeth did not feel clean with this toothpaste nor did my breath smell fresh. I personally am really into having good oral health which is why I couldn't vibe with this toothpaste. I recommend Aquafresh Extreme Clean toothpaste instead. I have a full review on this toothpaste. I suggest you check it out for a detailed review on the Aquafresh.
That's all folks!

I did not have a lot of un-favorites this month. Which is great. I hope you all found this to post to be helpful. If you have questions or comments please feel free to leave them below. Review: Aquafresh Extreme Clean Toothpaste

Hey Dolls!

I am sure we have all seen that toothpaste commercial with the people who had their tooth paste switched out with the Aquafresh Extreme Clean toothpaste. Well, I like many others got suck into the claims of the toothpaste. So, a couple of weeks ago I picked it up and tested it out. I have been using it in conjunction with my little brother and I figured it would a good idea to share my thoughts with on this toothpaste with you guys. Which is why today's post will be a review on the Aquafresh Extreme toothpaste. I will give a brief overview of the product, the pros and cons, and my final thoughts of the product. So, without further a do let's jump into it!

Let's begin with an overview.

This is a toothpaste which claims to deep clean the teeth. It says it has micro-active foam which goes into hard to reach areas of the mouth, fights bad breath, and rinses clean. It retails for $5.00 at Target. It is available anywhere toothpaste is sold. (I.E. Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, etc.)

Now my pros.
  • Leaves teeth feeling clean.
  • Breath is minty for a while after brushing.
  • Foams in mouth immediately.
Onto my cons.
  •  NONE!
Lastly my thoughts on the product.

This toothpaste is awesome! It leave the teeth squeaky clean and the breath minty fresh. I never have to worry about awkward stall breath at any point in the day. It gently cleans. My brother often complains about peeling of his "mouth" skin with other toothpastes. However he does not with this toothpaste. I highly recommend this product to everyone!

That's all folks!

That was my review on Aquafresh Extreme Clean toothpaste. I hope you found this post helpful. If have a comment, remember to leave it in the comment section below. Review: Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash

Hey Dolls!

My skin is ridiculously oily. Which is why I am always in the market for a good clarifying cleanser. (A clarifying cleanser is a cleanser that deep cleans the skin and removes all oils and impurities from the skin.) A few weeks back I was "window shopping" on Amazon and I can across Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash. This product definitely intrigued me. Of course window shopping did not work... I bought the face wash and have been testing it out for a couple of weeks. Now, that I have a feel for the product I figured it would be a good idea to share my thoughts on this with you Dolls. Which is why today's post will be a review on the Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash. I will give a brief overview on the product, the pros and cons, and my final thoughts. So, let's jump into it!

Let's begin with a brief product overview.

The Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash is a clarifying cleanser for the face. It claims  to be soap free, oil free, fragrance free, and great for all skin types. It says it gently cleanses skin without stripping it of its moisture, safely and effectively removes eye makeup, will not irritate the skin, will not leave a residue, and leaves the skin feeling soft and fresh. The face wash comes in white bottle that contains 6 FL. OZ. of product. It retails for at least $7.99 and at most $14.50 on amazon.com. (I purchased it for $8.53 on amazon.com)

Now my pros.
  • Does not have an over whelming scent.
  • Rinses off clean.
  • Does not dry out my skin.
  • Does not irritate my eyes or skin.
  • Removes all of my makeup.
  • Great for daily use.
  • Deep cleans well.
Onto my cons.
  • Doesn't reduce the amount of oil my skin produces.
Lastly my thoughts on the product.
I really enjoyed this product because it was super inexpensive, gentle on my skin, and prefect for deep cleaning. It really helped my skin absorb my serum, skin treatments and, moisturizer. It has not caused any breakouts on my skin. In fact I have not had any breakout since I began using this product. I highly recommend it to all of you Dolls.

That's all folks!
That was my review on the Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash. I hope you found it helpful. If you have any comments or questions please leave them below. I will gladly answer them. Review: Maybelline Expert Eyes Eye Makeup Remover

Hey Dolls!

Removing eye makeup can be a pain in the butt. So, when I saw Maybelline Expert Eyes Eye Makeup Remover I became intrigued. I have been using it for about a two months and I feel as though I should let you Dolls know if it lives up to its claims. Which is why today's post is going to be a review of the product. This post will consist of a basic product overview of the product, pros and cons, and my final thoughts on the product. So, without further a do let's jump into it!

Let's begin with a brief product overview.

Maybelline Expert Eyes Eye Makeup Remover comes in two forms, the oil-free version for washable eye makeup and a moisturizing version for waterproof eye makeup. I use the oil-free version. It claims to gently remove washable mascara without leaving an oily residue. It says that it is fragrance free,  safe for sensitive eyes, and it's hypoallergenic. The product comes in a clear plastic bottle that holds 2.3 FL. OZ. This product retails for $4.65. It is available anywhere Maybelline products are sold. (I.E. Walgreens, CVS, etc.)

Now my Pros.
  •  It does not sting my eyes.
  • It's affordable.
Onto the Cons.
  • It does not easily remove my eye makeup.
Finally my thoughts on the product.

I do not like this eye makeup remover because, it takes a long time to remove washable eye makeup. I have to tug and rub to remove makeup. Which makes my eyes irritated.  Therefore the Maybelline Expert Eyes 100% oil free Eye Makeup Remover in my opinion is not something I would recommend.

That's all folks!

That was my review on the Maybelline Expert Eyes 100% oil free eye makeup remover. I hope you all enjoyed this post. DIY Hot Oil Treatment

Hey Dolls!

Shiny, healthy, soft, manageable hair is every girls dream. Sadly, salt water, humidity, heat, and chemicals can make gorgeous hair hard to achieve. To remedy hair damage the use of oils is great. However going to the salon or buy a hair oil treatment can be expensive. So, I have a DIY hot oil
treatment to share with you Dolls. This treatment will help restore body and shine to your damaged locks. So, without further a do let's jump into it!

What you will need...
  1. Coconut Oil (try for raw, solid, organic coconut oil.)
  2. Olive Oil (try for organic olive oil.)
  3. A comb
  4. A bottle or container
  5. A bowl
  6. Peppermint or Tea Tree essential oil
  7. A heating method. (Either the microwave or the stove.)
  8. A spoon
The instructions...
  1. Add a 1/3 cup of coconut oil to a microwave safe bowl and melt it.
  2. Once the coconut oil is melted add 2 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil to the bowl.
  3. Then add 4 or more drops of peppermint or tea tree oil to the bowl.
  4. Mix the mixture thoroughly.
  5. Then put the mixture in a container that it can be stored in.
  6. Once it is in the container microwave it once again. Try not to make it too hot.
How to use the Treatment...
  1. Wash your hair thoroughly.
  2. Then use your regular conditioner.
  3. Once the conditioner is washed out heat up the treatment for 30 seconds or so. (Make sure it isn't too hot.)
  4. Even distribute the product in the hair.
  5. Once the oil is in the hair wrap the hair up. (You can use a plastic bag or a plastic shower cap.)
  6. Leave the treatment in for as long as possible. Don not wash it about for at least 15 minutes. For best results use a hooded hair dryer.
  7. Once the oil has penetrated rinsed it out with cool water.
  8. Then take a wide tooth comb and comb out the hair gently. Start at the ends and work your way up.
  9. After the hair is detangled take an old t-shirt or a silk or micro-fiber cloth and gently pat the hair dry.
  10. Then apply any other products you apply to the hair.
That's all folks!

That was my DIY Hot Oil Treatment! This treatment is great for dry, damaged hair because the coconut oil and olive oil restore shine, add moisture, seal the hair cuticles, and detangle the hair and the peppermint or tea tree oil add a tingling sensation that promotes blood flow to the hair follicles. Extra blood flow equals more hair growth. This treatment can be used 2x a week. (Overuse can make the hair greasy and hair to work with.) And this mask can be preserve in a cabinet along with all your other hair products. I really hope you Dolls try it out because it is amazing!

My Mascara Routine

Hey Dolls!
My favorite eye makeup to buy is mascara because, mascara can really make or break an eye look. I believe long, flirty, voluminous lashes can make the eyes appear larger and more innocent if paired with a light, shimmery eyeshadow look. With that said I spend a lot of time researching different mascaras and trying new mascaras. And recently I came upon two new mascaras... The L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara (I have a review on this product. Go check it out.) and the Maybelline The Rocket volume mascara. I utterly adore both and they work well together. However, I do feel like I need a bit more than just applying mascara to achieve amazing lashes. So, in today's post I will be giving a step by step tutorial on my mascara routine. Let's jump into it.

  1. I comb out my lashes with a lash comb. This remove any bits of old mascara or liner from the lashes.
  2. I then curl my lashes. I pump the lash curl to help amplify the curl.
  3. I apply L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara as my first coat. I wiggle the wand up the lashes to evenly distribute the product. I make sure to apply it to the inner and outer most corners of the lashes as well as on the back. I will repeat this process if needed.
  4. I then apply Maybelline The Rocket volume mascara as my second coat. I repeat the same wiggling process as I used with the L'Oreal Miss Manga.
  5. Then I apply L'Oreal False Fiber Lashes to the lashes as my third coat.
  6. Once all of the mascara is applied if I see any clumping I use the lash comb to remove the clumps.
  7. Once the lashes are dry I will then curl them once more to give more volume and curl.
That's all folks!

That was my mascara routine. It is simple and easy to do. This routine can be used with any mascara or mascara combo. This routine is a great way to complete any eye look.

Hope you found this post helpful. If you have any questions then leave them in the comments section below. If you would like to contact me refer to the "follow me" page about. DIY Tinted Moisturizer

Hey Dolls!

As I am sure you all know, I love a full coverage, matte finish foundation. Foundation is a great way
to get a flawless coverage. However, full coverage foundation can be too heavy to wear on a day to day bases. Especially if I am attending school. So, I generally opt for a tinted moisturizer instead of a foundation. A tinted moisturizer is great because it provides coverage but will not look un-natural or cakey. Sadly, there are two issues that I have with buying tinted moisturizer. The first issue is, as an oily skinned girl it is extremely hard to find a tinted moisturizer that won't make me oilier than I already am. The second issues is the price point. Drugstore tinted moisturizers don't seem to be cutting it for my oily skin however, my budget will not allow me to spend $35+ dollars on a high end tinted moisturizer. (#firstworldproblems #teenagerproblems) Due to this dilemma I have found a inexpensive alterative to purchasing tinted moisturizer. My solution is a D.I.Y (do it yourself) tinted moisturizer. My D.I.Y tinted moisturizer is great because it provides me with light-medium coverage(which I love) at a great price point.

With all that said, I figured since it's an affordable way to get a natural light-medium coverage it would be a prefect to add to my back to school series. So, today's post will be my tinted moisturizer recipe. Let's jump into it!

What you will need...
  1. 1 1/2 parts a foundation or liquid concealer of your choice
  2. 1 1/2 parts a moisturizer of your choice. (sunscreen would work as well.)
The recipe...
  1. Apply a foundation or concealer onto the back of your hand. Be careful not to use too much. You are only making enough for one application.
  2. Apply a moisturizer or sunscreen to the back of your hand. Again, be careful, you are only making enough for one application.
  3. Mix the mixture together.
  4. Apply to face as you would foundation.
Tips for oily people... This will make you oily.
  1. Use a matte finish, long wearing foundation or concealer. this will help with how oily you get.
  2. Set the tinted moisturizer with a powder.
  3. Take powder, blotting sheets, or whatever you use to remove shine with you fro touch ups.
  4. Refrain from using this tinted moisturizer on hot days.
That's all folks!
That was my D.I.Y tinted moisturizer. I hope you Dolls try it!

Review: L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara

Hey Dolls!

Every girl is on the search for a mascara that makes lashes big, voluminous, and doll like. For years L'Oreal has had a collection of mascaras entitled Voluminous. Their line is filled with dozens of amazing mascaras. And it seems like every year they come out with at least one new mascara for the collection. Each mascara is usually better than the last. Of course to stay true to makeup evolution they have released a new mascara. The newest mascara to be added to the collection is the Miss Magna mascara. And of course the makeup junkie in me bought it and put it to the test. In today's post I will be reviewing this product. Of course I will give my overview, pros/cons, and my overall opinion on if it is worth buying. So, without further rambling let's jump into!

Let's begin with product a quick product overview...
Poster of L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara

The L'Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga mascara claims to feature a 360 degree Flexor Brush to help with volume. It also claims that its formula instantly builds lashes up; giving 12x more volume. Another claim the company makes it is, the mascara will give a wide eyed effect to the eyes. It also states that it is clump free, flake free, smudge proof, allergy tested, suitable for sensitive eyes, and suitable for contact lens wearers. Brown/black, black, and blackest black are the three shades in the collection. It comes in a waterproof formula. I own blackest black in the waterproof formula. The container holds 0.29 oz. of product. This mascara retails for $7.99. It can be purchased at any drugstore, Ulta, and L'Oreal.com.

The Pros and Cons of this product...

Pros:
  1. The pink packaging is cute.
  2. Has a drier formula which helps prevent smudging.
  3. It is buildable but, it does get some clumps.
  4. Adds volume to lashes.
  5. Gives great length to the lashes.
  6. It is smudge proof.
  7. It is flake free.
  8. The brush makes it easy to get even the little inner corner lashes.
Cons:
  1. Packaging... Although it is cute it is large. I have to store it separately from my others.
Overall opinion...

I really do like this mascara. It is great for adding length and volume to the lashes. Though it does a bit it is no issue for me because I actually like a bit of clumpiness. I recommend it to anyone who loves volume in their lashes.

Review: NYX Dark Circle Concealer

Hey Dolls!

Dark Circles can be a pain in the butt. Sleep, heredity, and allergies/colds are some of the main causes of dark circles. With all those causes it is hard to avoid getting dark circles. Which is why dark circle correcting concealer is amazing for covering them up. The issue is finding a concealer that works. I have been on the hunt for an amazing drugstore dark circle correcting concealer and I do believe I found one. So, in today's post I will be giving a detailed review of my new favorite drugstore dark circle correcting concealer. Let's jump into!

Let's begin with a brief overview of the product...

The concealer I have been using to cover my dark circles is the NYX dark circle concealer. It's a potted cream based concealer. The concealer claims to cover dark circles by using that orange clay pigment to help counteract the blue tones under the eye. It also says that it contains coconut oil to hydrate the under eye areas. This product is sold at Ulta, NYX.com, local beauty supplies stores, and Targets. The concealer retails for $5.99. There are four different shades in the collection. It ranges from fair to deep; My shade is deep. The container holds 0.1oz. of product.

Pros and Cons of the product...

Pros
  1. This has a smooth consistency. It does not pull on my under eye area.
  2. It has buildable coverage. Which makes it perfect for day and night uses.
  3. Does not crease once I set it with powder.
  4. Has a orange undertone that helps remove the blue tones that are under my eye.
  5. I love how inexpensive it is.
  6. It feels lightweight under the eyes.
  7. It brightens up my face without being "high beam-ish".
Cons
  1. I wish it contained a bit more orange that it does. Though it removes me blue tones I usually prefer a more orange color.
  2. I have long natural nails so it is a bit hard getting product out. I wish the pot was a bit larger.
My opinion over all...

I love this product it is prefect! I highly recommend this to all you Dolls especially the beginners at makeup or people in a rush because, it is a multitasking product. It is a color corrector and concealer in one which means their is no need to add more concealer over to hide any orange pigment on the skin or to brighten up the face. I think you Dolls will really love this concealer.

Back to School: High School/College Makeup Tutoiral

Hey Dolls!

We all have our individual "get ready for school style". Some of us like to roll out of bed, put on some sweats, tie our hair up, and run out the door, some like a super minimal makeup look (for example mascara and lipgloss) and a casual, comfy outfit and, some like to take time to put on a decent amount of makeup and gorgeous outfit. (For me personally it depends on what day of the week it is!)

Of course the first two looks are no brainers; either no makeup or mascara and lipgloss. However, the third look is not as effortless. Although that look is not effortless, it doesn't have to be time consuming or difficult. I have a great tutorial that works perfect for look number three. In today's post I am will to be sharing that basic, natural, well put together makeup look. So, without further a due, let's jump into it!

Let's being with skin preparation.
  • Complete your skin care routine of choice. (If you are interested in mine I will link it below.)
  • Apply a thin layer of your favorite face primer.
  • Apply eye primer or a white/beige eyeshadow base to the lids. Blend it upwards to the brow bone with your fingers.
  • Apply a but of lip balm to prep lips.
Now to the eyes.
Me wearing this look with a winged eyeliner
  • If you are someone who fills in there eyebrows, now you be an exceptional time to do so.
  • Then take a matte taupe eyeshadow (I generally use buck from the Urban Decay Naked Palette) on a flat brush. Pat that shadow all over the lid. Repeat if needed.
  • Once the lid is done a matte medium brown shade on a crease brush and run that color through the crease until it is blended well. Repeat if needed.
  • Then a matte darker brown, gray, or black on a stiff dome brush. Apply this color to the outer v and the lower lash line.
  • After placing the previously used shadow, blend it out with a clean fluffy blending brush.
  • Once everything is blended take a matte beige, tan, or white shadow and apply it to the brow bone.
  • *Then apply that same color to the inner tear duct.
  • *Apply a small winged out eyeliner to the eyes.
  • *Curl the lashes.
  • Apply mascara.
Onto the skin.
Me wearing this look with my glasses
  • Take the foundation, bb cream, cc cream, or tinted moisturizer of your choice and blend it over

your face with a beauty blending sponge or a dense foundation brush. Use tapping motions with the sponge. Use tapping and buffing motions with the brush. I generally use my Lancôme Tient De Idole 24H foundation or my DIY tinted moisturizer during this step. (If you are interested in my DIY tinted moisturizer come back on the 18th when it drops.)
  • Apply under eye concealer to help brighten up the face. I use the NYX dark circle concealer in Deep to do this step. (The review I did on this concealer will be up later in the week.)
  • Set the face lightly with powder and/or setting spray.
  • Using a large, fluffy brush blend bronzing powder onto the outer areas of the face.
  • *Then apply a blush of your choice. I would generally use a pinky, beige shade or a coral-y, pink shade.
  • That a fan brush and apply a highlighter of your choice. I usually use my Wet N' Wild Centerstage shimmer palette in Rose Champagne Glow or Rose Gold Goddess. ( My review on these shimmer palettes dropped today. Go check it out.)
Lastly the lips.
  • Apply a lip gloss of your choice. I generally stick to nudes, corals, or mauves.
That's all folks!

That was my simply, well pulled together makeup look for school. I usually do this look in about 15-20 minutes. This look is great for a high school or college age girl who just wants to look pulled together but, not over done.

Review: Wet N' Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection To Reflect Shimmer Palette

Hey Dolls!
I recently posted my July Beauty Favorites. In that post I raved about the Wet n' Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection To Reflect Shimmer Palettes. I said that I would post a review on the palettes later. So, today's post is going to be a review on the shimmer palettes. In this post I will give a basic overview of the products packaging, the price, and the claims. Then, I will go more into depth with the shades, my likes, my dislikes, what they are dupes for, etc. etc. So, without further a do let's jump into!

Let's begin with a brief overview...
The Wet n' Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection To Reflect Shimmer Palettes are drugstore highlighting powders. They retail for $4.99 to $5.99. The palettes come in Rose Champagne Glow, Rose Gold Goddess, and Carnaval in Rio. The palettes come in black compacts. Each compact holds .4 oz. of product. The palettes claim to have a high pigmented, high-pearl reflexive finish. It also says it can be used wet or dry.

The shades...
  1. Rose Gold Goddess: This shade is a warm coppery shade with a bit of a rose gold undertone. This is a beautiful highlight shade for tan to deep skin tones. I think this shade is way too dark for fair to light tones. If someone that is fair to light were to buy this I suggest using it has a glowy bronzer or a eyeshadow.
  2. Rose Champagne Glow: This is my favorite palette out of all the other palettes. This is a beautiful pinky, rosy, pearly, champagne color. It gives the most beautiful "glow from within" glow that I have ever seen. I am usually a golden highlight girl. So I was surprised that I would love this but honestly, if you Dolls go out and get one of these get this one! I  highly recommend it for all skin tones.
  3. Carnaval in Rio: The is a straight up copper highlight. It's a bit darker than Rose Gold Goddess. This color is great as a lid shade or in conjunction with a matte contour. Like I said for Rose Gold Goddess if you have a deep skin tone this would work as a highlight. If you have a olive tan skin tone this would work for a highlight as well. I don't suggest using this a highlight if you have fair to light skin. However any skin tone could use this as a shadow or a glowy bronzer.
Top Left: Rose Gold Goddess
Middle: Rose Champagne Glow
Top Right: Carnaval in Rio
Pros of the formula...
  1. Highly pigmented
  2. Not chalky
  3. No chucky glitters or sparkles
  4. Long lasting
Cons of the formula...
  1. NO CONS OF THE FORMULA!
Pros of the packaging...
  1. Sleek
  2. Easy to open
Cons of the packaging...
  1. The package is huge! I can't fit it inside the drawer that my other highlighter are in.
Is it a dupe???
  • I do believe that these shimmer palettes are dupes for MAC mineralized skin finishes.
Overview:
I recommend these to all of you Dolls! They are amazing in every sense of the word. Go out and try it.

How to Stay Organzied

Hey Dolls!

At the beginning of the school year we are all very organized. Mostly because we don't have a lot of papers or homework to keep up with. However, as the school year rages on some of us become disorganized. With this comes having to redo things, having missing assignments, etc. etc. To help keep the stress and frustration of being disorganized at bay I provide you Dolls with a couple of organization tips. So, let's jump into it.
  1. Label folders, binders, and notebooks. Labeling will help you easily choose with notebook,
binder, or folder is for what class. This way you never accidently place something in the wrong subject's notebook, binder, or folder.
  2. Use separate folders, binders, and notebooks for every subject. I know there are such things as several subject notebooks but, using those may cause an issue. For example, if you accidently right an important note in the wrong section or if you run out of space in one section then you right it in another and later forget where you wrote the note. Plus, it looks neater. This logic works for folders and binders as well.
  3. Use a planner. I know I said this in my Study Tips post (if you haven't seen my study tips post I will link it below.) but, using a planner is  super important. Planners help you remember what has to be done, in what time frame, and if it has been completed. Keeping all of your activities, homework, projects, and goals in one planner can really help you stay organized and focused.
  4. Do written homework in a notebook. Doing homework in a notebook will help you keep track of the assignment.
  5. Don't tear written homework out of a notebook until you are ready to turn it in. Leaving the assignment in the notebook until it is time to turn it in will ensure that your homework does not get lost.
  6. Color code your subjects. Use one color for one subject only. This way you never mix up a notebook, binder, or folder.
  7. After completing homework at night put it in your bag as soon as you are done. Some mornings are hectic. With all of the running around you may forget a thing or two. If you put your work away as soon as you finish it you ensure that you will never lose an assignment.
That's all folks!

Those were my organization tips for you Dolls! These tips are super helpful and easy to follow. I hope you Dolls try them out!

I hope you all found this post helpful. If you have any questions or comments leave them below.  Remember to share this post with friends and family. I hope you all have a blessed week!

My Eyebrow Routine

Hey Dolls!

I love to apply my foundation, highlight and contour but, I could comfortably go outside without doing those things. However, I cannot comfortably go outside without filling in my eyebrows. Without the frame that eyebrows give my face, I feel naked and incomplete. ( I am sure that everyone has something they can't go outside without doing.) Because I feel the need to fill in my eyebrows, I spend a lot of time perfecting my eyebrow routine. However, I refuse to spend a lot of money on products for them. I feel as though the drugstore has plenty of products that work perfectly for filling in eyebrows. With all that said I want to share with you all my everyday, drugstore eyebrow routine. So, without further a do let's jump into it!

Let's begin with the products I use...
1. Wet n' Wild Fergie creme eyeliner in Cocoa Riche
2. Small angled eyeliner brush
3. ELF glitter primer
4. Kat Von D lock-it tattoo foundation in Deep 74
5. Flat concealer brush
6. A basic spoolie
7. ELF Flawless concealer brush
8. L.A. Girl pro conceal HD concealer in Fawn

Onto the tutorial...
1. Apply ELF glitter primer on the eyebrows. This will create a smooth surface to apply product on.
2. Brush the eyebrows into place with a spoolie. This will also create a smooth surface to apply prod ut on.
3. Apply the liner to the angled eyeliner brush. Begin to fill in the eyebrows. Start at the tail and work your way froward. Make sure you use light strokes to keep the brows looking natural. Starting at the end will ensure that the brows stay natural looking. ( the tail should be the darkest portion of the brow. The beginning should be the lightest. When the eyebrows are completely filled in they should have a slight gradient effect.)
4. Once the eyebrows are completely filled in, lightly brush them with the spoolie. This will also aid in keeping the natural looking.
5. Take a small amount of the of a lighter concealer and apply it to the flat concealer brush. ( a light color for me is the L.A. Girl concealer in fawn.) Use the concealer on the brush to clean up under the eyebrow. This will also highlight that area as well.
6. If you need to clean up on top of the eyebrow use the same concealer brush and a bit of a concealer or foundation that matches your skin tone to do so. ( my product of choice is my foundation which is the kat von d lock-it tattoo foundation in deep 74)
7. Once the brows are cleaned up take a domed brush (elf flawless concealer brush would work perfectly.) and blend out the harsh lines around the eyebrow.
8. If you must you can set the eyebrows with a gel. I personally do not.

That's all folks!

Those are all the steps that use to fill in my eyebrows. For me this is the easiest and most cost effective  way for me to properly do my brows. By the way, if you are curious as to why I use the eyeliner to fill in my brows go to my inexpensive eyebrow dupe blog post. I will link it below!

I hope this was informative and helpful. If you have questions or comments feel free to leave them in the comments section below. I will be more than happy to answer them. Makeup Bag essentials

Hey Dolls!

School can last anywhere from 7 to 9 hours! As an oily girl 7 to 9 hours is quite a long time to go without touching up your makeup. So, I bring a makeup bag to school with me. In today's post I am going to share with you all my school makeup essentials. Let's jump into it!

  1. Carmex- Lip balm is super important. It hydrates your lips and adds shine.
  2. Jordana Twist and Shine in 08 Terra Crave- This color is great because its a your lips but better color. It creates shine and fullness. Plus its long lasting because its a stain.
  3. ELF liquid eyeliner in black- I use liquid eyeliner almost everyday in my makeup routine. Sometimes the wing will wear off a bit. So I put eyeliner in my bag for touch ups.
  4. NYX Dark Circle concealer in Dark- My under eye concealer usually does wear off. In the event that it does I carry which ever concealer I am currently using.
  5. ELF shine eraser- These are just blotting sheets.
  6. Covergirl trumagic in skin perfector- This is a gel substance that turns into a powder. It is great for mattifying.
  7. NYC smooth skin powder in Translucent- This is literally the smoothest, translucent pressed powder I have ever owned. I use this along with my ELF shine eraser and Covergirl trumagic to touchup my makeup and achieve a matte look.
  8. ELF Kabuki Face Brush- This is a great brush for applying powder. It's small so it's prefect for my makeup bag.
  9. Compact Mirror- You can get one of these anywhere. It is just a compact with a mirror. Prefect for apply tinted lip balm or lip stick in class.
That's all folks!

Study Tips

Hey Dolls!

As we all know the new school year is upon us which means its time to focus on our studies. With all of the school responsibilities we have during the school year it can be hard to focus on one subject. Throughtout my school career I picked up a few study tips that really do help me focus and study effectively. In today's post I will be sharing those tips with you. So, let's jump into it!

  1. Find an area where there are no distractions. Studying around distractions is a futile effort; it will be extremely difficult to actually comprehend what you are studying if you are being distracted. (Some forms of distractions are TVs, friends, restaurants, etc.) I recommend finding a quiet place to study.
  2. Use a planner. Writing down your class schedule, homework assignments, upcoming projects, work schedule, and other activities is a great was to stay organized, serve as a reminder, and preplan your study sessions.
  3. Buy a desk. A desk that is deserved only for studying will help your mind to get into study mode. Studying in bed or in the kitchen can serve as a distraction.
  4. Create study groups. Whether these groups are in person or online create a group for studying. Peers are awesome when it comes to studying. Friends can give memorization tips, new insight into a subject, or simply for questions.
  5. Remove electronics from your study area. Of course if you are using a computer to work then that is fine. However, phones, tablets, gaming devices or TVs can serve as a distraction.
  6. Create a playlist. It is very hard for me to study without a little noise. So if you are like me create a playlist. This way you don't stop working every time a song goes off. I recommend adding music that is up lifting and fun. Slow, melodic music could make you tired or somber.
  7. Study right after school if possible. Waiting until the wee hours of the night make it hard to absorb what you studied. Of course if you are in sports or work this can be difficult. Make bring something to studying during your breaks to help off set the amount of work you must do once you are home.
  8. Have snacks on deck. Snack are important because hunger can be a serious distraction. Try and snack on healthy things such as veggies, fruit, peanut butter, etc. Focus your snacks around healthy sugars and proteins. This will provide energy.
That's all folks!

Those were my study tips. These tips are honestly life savers. I hope you Dolls try them!

I hope you all found this post helpful. If you have an study tips, requests, questions, or comments feel free to comment below. You can also send comments, questions, requests, and tips to my email. Add me on Google Plus. I use that platform to give regular updates on the makeup junkie blog. Remember to share this blog with friends and family. Thank you for stopping by the makeup junkie. How to: Add a Pop of Color to an Everyday Eye Look

Hey Dolls!

Here in America it is summertime. Which means it's time to switch out deep fall/winter colors for
brighter spring/summer colors. Though bright colors are beautiful and fun to play with, it is hard to work them into a makeup look without looking like a box of crayons exploded on your face. So, with that being said, in today's post I will be giving tips on how to add a pops of color to a basic makeup look. Let's jump into it!

P.S. I am using my everyday eye makeup as my basis makeup look. If you are interested my everyday eye makeup I will link it below.

Let's begin with ways to add a pop of color to the eyes:
  1. Use a colorful liquid liner instead of black. The color will pop out from behind your lashes adding a fresh twist that isn't too much.
  2. Add a bright color to the inner corner of the eye. Adding bright colors here will open up the eye and give the a basic eye look a fun twist.
  3. Add to lower lash line. Instead of smudging dark colors under the bottom lashes use a bright fun color. This will add a beautiful contrast to the neutral colors happening on the lid.
  4. Add to the water line. Adding a colorful, pigmented liner to the water line is an extremely subtle way to introduce color to the eye. It will open the eye up and make it appear larger.
  5. Add a funky color to the lid. This is a bold pop of color unlike the other tips above.
  6. Fill in your eyebrows with funky colors. This is actually on trend this season. This is unique and fresh to add color to the face. It is by far the most out-there pop of color I personally have seen.
Let's move on to the lips and cheeks:
  1. Adding a bright blush to a completely neutral makeup look is a bold way to add color to the face.
  2. Adding a bright lip color to a completely neutral makeup look is also a bold way to add a pop of color to the face. Remember to line the lips first to prevent the color from bleeding.
That's all folks!

Adding color to a basic makeup look and really spice up the look without much effort. I highly suggest you Dolls try one (or all!) of the various ways to add color.

I hope you all found that helpful. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them in the comments section below. Remember to share this post. Also, add my on Google Plus to receive regular updates on the blog. Thank you much for stopping by! I hope you have a great week!

July Non-Beauty Favorites

Hey Dolls!

July has come to an end and it is now August! That means it's time for my July Non-Beauty Favorites. So, let's jump into!

Let's being with food...
  • Potbelly's Mediterranean Sandwich with Chicken on Whole Wheat- This is literally a sandwich from heaven. It has their zippy hummus, Feta Cheese, Artichoke Hearts, Roasted Red Peppers and Crispy Cucumbers. I add grilled chicken to the sandwich. I could eat this everyday I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a good sandwich.
  • Sour Patch Kids extreme: I love all the sour patch kids flavors. they are my favorite candy. However I have recently found the extreme version and my gosh those things are so good! They are of course sour. Unlike the originals the gummy candy base is actually tangy. These have lots of flavor even after the sour sugar has been removed. I highly recommend these to sour candy lovers.
Onto music...
  • I love me some Iggy Azalea. Her energy is amazing. She just gives me life. Her newest album, entitled The New Classic, is amazing. I love all the cult classics such as Fancy or Work. However, I adore Black Widow and Rolex. Black Window features Rita Ora. The song is so electric and fun it really gets me going. I often listen to it while I do my makeup. It has most definitely been on repeat all month. Rolex is a slower song. It talks about misguided love. I cannot say that this song is energetic but I can say it has a good feel to it.
  • Ariana Grande is everything. Her last album gave me so much life its ridiculous. So, naturally I am excited for the new album coming out in August. As I wait for her next album I currently playing Break Free (her new single.) consistently. It is a energetic song about breaking free from a bad romance. The beat is easy to vide to and the lyrics are standard. I really love this song because she is diverting away from the Mariah Carey sound she had before. Yet, she is still using her amazing vocals to add a R&B edge to a pop song.
  • My last music favorite is Jhene Aiko. She dropped an outstanding mixtape last year. Now as the world awaits her first album she drops a teaser single entitled To Love & Die. This is a easy going song about love it mirror the style of the songs on her last mixtape. Her voice is soft and innocent which is in direct contrast to the lyrics of the song. I recommend her to people who enjoy Drake. Their style mirrors each other well.
Lastly APPS...
  • I am not a into video games and apps. However when I heard Kim Kardashian came out with a new game I was all about that life. The game is called Kim Kardashian Hollywood. In the game you are a person attempting to make it to the A list. I am obsessed with this game. I am currently #1, A-list and I have 68 million fans. I love that the game is easy to follow but, I hate that you lose so much energy trying to finish a job. However, unlike some people who play I am patient enough to wait for my character to he re-energized. Therefore, I have not spent real money on the game. I recommend it for girls who enjoy fun pass time games.
That's all Folks!

July Beauty Favorites

Hey Dolls!

July has come to an end and it is now August! That means it's time for my July Beauty Favorites. So, let's jump into!

  1. Wet n' Wild Fergie crème eyeliner in Cocoa Riche is my first favorite. I use this eyeliner to fill in my eyebrows. It has a similar consistency to the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade. Except, the Wet n' Wild liner is only $4.00. If you read my blog post on a dupe for the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade you know that I used the ELF crème eyeliner in Coffee. I personally like the Wet n' Wild crème eyeliner more than the ELF crème eyeliner. I prefer the Wet n' Wild because, it is  more pigmented, slightly creamier, and, it is a darker brown. Which I feel is more flattering on my skin. I highly recommend this product to people with black or dark brown hair.
  2. My next favorite is something I am in love with. It is the Wet n' Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection To Reflect Shimmer Palettes. I own all three shades ( Rose Golden Goddess, Rose Champagne Glow, and Carnaval in Rio) and I adore these. They have such a beautiful glow that is not glittery or cakey. These shimmer palettes are super blendable, highly pigmented, and each color adds a beautiful lit from within glow to the skin. The palettes are a great value because they are huge and come with plenty of product. Plus, they retail for about $5.00. (I believe.) Which in my opinion makes them a steal! If you want more info on these shimmer palettes stay tuned for the in depth review I will be posting soon.
  3. Real Techniques is one of my favorite brush and applicator brands. So, it is no surprise that the expert face brush made its way into my favorites. This brush is dense with short bristles which makes it perfect for blending out foundation and harsh lines. The brush makes my makeup look airbrushed and natural. No matter what foundation I use with this brush I always look natural and flawless. I recommend using circular buffing motions with this brush. The circular motions will help enhance the flawless finish that the brush gives. It's an affordable, great quality brush that I honestly don't know how to live without. I highly recommend you all go out and get this brush. It is available online, at Ulta, Kohl's, and Rite Aid.
  4. My next favorite is the Elf small tapered brush. This brush is my holy grail highlighter brush. The size, the fluffiness, and tapered point on the brush make it prefect for flawlessly blending out my highlighter of choice. I have also used it to contour with and it is great for that as well. It retails for $3.00 on eyeslipsface.com.
  5. L'Oreal is hands down my favorite drugstore makeup brand. They have amazing foundations, powders, mascaras, lip products etc. etc. So, when I picked up two of the Color Riche lipsticks I knew I would be in love. (And I was right!)
    • The first lipstick is 181 Sheer Linen- This is a beautiful mid-tone pinky nude. It is glossy and sheer which makes it prefect for everyday use. I adore the creamy texture and the slick packaging. I recommend this lipstick to all of you Dolls.
    • The second lipstick is 370 Jennifer's Nude. This lipstick is from the Collection Privee Collection that they did with several famous actresses. It is a beautiful mauve nude with a pinky, purple undertone. It is great for everyday wear. It is not to glossy nor is it sheer like sheer linen. It pairs nicely with a brown lip liner.
  6. My last favorite is a rediscovered product. It is the ELF mineral blemish powder in Clear. When I first started using makeup I loved this because the powder is finely milled and lightweight. When I first got this product I did not know how to properly use it. I was packing it on all over my face which gave me a chalky, white cast. Needless to say it sat in my drawer forever. Recently, I ran out of my ELF mineral eye brightener and the mineral blemish powder has replaced it since. It mattifies my under eyes amazingly, it is light weight, and it brightens my under eye area as well. It retails for $3.00 on the ELF website. I highly recommend to you Dolls.
That's all folks!

July is over ALREADY! I cannot believe we have already completed seven month of 2014. It's unbelievable how fast time flies! I'm sure we can all agree that time waits for no one. Back to School Makeup for Middle Schoolers

Hey Dolls!

It's almost time to return to school Dolls! Which for my Back to School series! Today's post is the first of the series. As the titled stated it will be about makeup for middle schoolers. This look is going to be extremely natural, quick, and easy to achieve. So let's jump into!

Let's begin with skin prep: Skin care is extremely important at this age. At this age skin is still relatively new. Therefore, taking care of the skin can keep it in good shape.

1. Wash face thoroughly with a good cleanser.
2. Pat the skin dry and apply moisturizer to the face.

Now let's begin with the makeup: I didn't wear makeup in middle school. I personally find it to not be necessary or healthy for the skin. Introducing chemicals to the skin can really harm it.

1. Coat lashes with a good mascara. I recommend the L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara.
2. Apply a skin tone matching concealer under the eyes. This will make you appear more awake and lively.
3. Apply a baby pink lip gloss to the lips.

That's all folks!

Makeup for middle school is simple. Middle schooler's skin is delicate and should taken care of. This routine helps pull the face together without providing heavy coverage. If I were in middle school and I chose to wear makeup this would be what I would wear.

I hope that this post was helpful. Stay tuned for more back to school posts! If you have questions or comments leave them in the comments section below. Remember to 1+ and share this blog. Thank you for stopping by the makeup junkie. I hope you have a blessed week!
